one problem/bug with the mod is that more than half drivers are missing talent files. I made a talent for each driver. Radically improved AI for me and also made for a closer competition.

Will the AI learning actually improve speed through the corners (i.e. when the driver brakes, when he accelerates etc.)?

I always thought the AI learning tool just made him learn the racing lines better.

@PTRACER

AI in rF is crap.

4 things to try, though neither are a real solution.

1) turn aggression slider down to like 20% or so. I find that helps prevent AI shunting me.
2) run the AI "learning" routine. Explained here:
http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=262652
3) Shout and scream "YOu stupid F***&^&%^%^$^ useless sodding ^&^&&%^^^& b&^&&%"
4) Turn number of AI cars down to ZERO. ;)

Number 2 might help you out. But I wouldn't expect much from it, tbh. AI in rF is seriously bad - endlessly annoying, and makes offline racing almost pointless imo. I tend to just hotlap.

Mod is very good, just having some "problems" with the AI.

I don't know if it's the circuits, or the AI, but they keep braking for corners which I can take flat out and it's causing a few accidents.

Any ideas?

always found it too weak on the rear, so I changed

[BAR] // forward upper arm
posbody=body negbody=rl_spindle pos=(0.45,0.33,1.005) neg=(0.650,0.38,1.205)

[BAR] // rearward upper arm
posbody=body negbody=rl_spindle pos=(0.45,0.33,1.205) neg=(0.650,0.38,1.205)

to

[BAR] // forward upper arm
posbody=body negbody=rl_spindle pos=(0.45,0.225,1.005) neg=(0.650,0.230,1.205)

[BAR] // rearward upper arm
posbody=body negbody=rl_spindle pos=(0.45,0.225,1.205) neg=(0.650,0.230,1.205)

(same on rr)

now Its working fine!
I am no expert in suspensions, but this looks like a bug..??

Anyone having problems extracting the rar archive, it appears this file is really a 7zip archive and has been renamed to .rar. Extracting with 7zip works error free.

beautiful mod, great sounds...but not that good physics to be honest. Almost no inertias and no lateral slip...it doesn´t feel "real" in my opinion. I really think it needs to revise the physics, the tyres grip and the general feeling of the car...feels like sitting on a board on top of wheels

as always, great effort and respect for the people that took the time to make it

Found a slight bug/defect. The 1979 Factory cars are running Dunlops instead of Goodyear.

Very cool mod..

Only car is very nervous, but due to a decent setup that can be solved..

Got one question.. How can i improve the braking?? :P

Because it takes a while before the car stops.. think the brakes could me i little more stronger..

But notheless... bloody awesome mod!

Nice Mod. Could you guys update templates or post a readme for how to set the genstring for the different style rims and tyre manufacturers? For those of interested in painting.

Now this is the real sound of a BMW straight-6 howling in agony. The car is quite a drift machine in slow corners, there's a lot of mid-corner oversteer, but it's pretty controllable. The only thing I noticed is that the car is highly unsettled by tall or wide curbs, which tend to throw it into a spin if you clip them on the apex, or into a long slide if it's out of the corner, which can only be stopped by slamming on the brakes.

Otherwise, quite a nice car to drive. The chassis normally copes with the engine's power delivery.

And congrats on the HOF.

a truly great mod. easily the best sound i have experienced yet in rfactor. twitchy handling, but that's what makes it fun to drive. great job.

After some hours in this car, i can say this is a good mod.
The tires can be improved, they have no grip to very low load and monster gripp in "push the pedal to the metal".She is to hard to drive at very low speed/load.I think the lateral slip curve and the dropoffunction have to be modified.
But this is a great mod, i love this car.
Good job !

A very good mod. Indeed the cockpit engine sound is really immersive. That's show how important the engine sound is to bring a mod to the succes.
This car needs some practice before getting fast chronos, its a good point. The handling of the car is very good too.

Thanks to the team.

I hope they wont stop their work and release other cars of 79-80.

Fragm was right. Upgrade Winrar to version 3.80b2 and the file is extracted easily. This is a good example of the importance of reading previous comments before adding your own.
