Agh OK thanks for letting me know The Lonely. Hope it's not too serious, not sure what could cause such a thing unless databases are being optimised, errors, accidental deletion. |

I wouldn't worry too much about being persecuted, the sites suffering a few missing items from the server change I presume. Some comments and screenshots have gone missing. Prehaps some links too then. |

Where has the EOAA DBR9 Challenge mod link gone from the GT section? Mombassa if you have a problem with me talking about the EOAA GT mod here let me know first before doing anything! You ought to presume that the mod will be legal, innocent before proven guilty and besides it's only being talked about no harm in that. |

Am working on EOAA GT mod http://forum.eoaa.org/index.php?topic=333.0.
BTW if you want to know what the new tyres will be like for the DBR9 both in this mod and the EOAA GT mod, look at post #28 here http://forum.eoaa.org/index.php?topic=333.msg1893#msg1893. |

Thanks for your explanation. I used the H shifter, but I should switch to the sequencial mode with the G25 I guess.
The more I drive this car, the more I realize how great this mod is. Also looking very much forward to the EOAA GT mod! |

It's a semi automatic car, it's not possible to disable the auto clutch or auto blip even if auto clutch is disabled. If you dip the cluitch and shift down at speed the auto blip will give 40% throttle in anticipation of next gear. Actually the drive train settings have been updated in the EOAA GT mod, the upshift clutch time is far too long in V1.05. |

Well it's either a very small difference or even I just imagine it because I know it's there. I'll see after a while when you're less busy if you can find another sample. Thanks for the try.
Another strange thing a noticed is when I change gears with the clutch fully pressed, there is a quick throttle increase even when I have totally lift the throttle while shifting. It is as if the clutch isn't completely free. When the car stands still, this does not happen. I looked in the player file and I have autoblip off, but this should have no effect when manually shift and clutch I believe. |

Hi GonZ0, is it any better? I think before the max sample might not have even been played. It will still be quiet because the samples are quiet but it should at least not cut out.
EDIT : It doesn't make much difference, the max sample doesn't cut out. It might be a little more natural though, I'll still look for another max off throttle sample but not easy to find one without any transmission noise and when transmission noise is tuned to RPM it sounds stupid like a turbo. |

Ok thanks, I'm gonna try that out.

Think I know why the off throttle might not be sounding right. Open the sfx, and for EngineRPMCoastInside=3 use ..
EngineRPMCoastInside=3
{
MinimumRPM=5000.00 // must overlap properly
MaximumRPM=7610.00 // must overlap properly
NaturalRPM=7095.00 // engine RPM at which sample was recorded
}
Max is 7200 in 1.05 but CoastInside=2 max is 7400 and it must be lower than CoastInside=3 max. My apologies, this mod will have several updates in the next patch but it won't be for a while because I'm working on the GT mod. |

It's already a good mod Jay360UK, maybe if you give me some money I'll work on it! You're all stingy, not one donation!
If you knew anything about real cars then you wouldn't say you prefer the other mod, it uses GTR2 physics as a base and GTR2's physics are really not very good, not bad for the time though. You prefer it probably because you're used to it, this mod is alien to you but it's very realistic.. like I said, if you knew anything about real cars you'd be able to see that, obviously you don't!
Sounds, well I'll look for more material but if you think you can do better feel free, you're just jealous cause you can't do it yourself!

Tbh I prefer the other DBR9 mod to this. The cameras are a bit off for some reason and the sounds aren't quite there yet. Keep trying though and this will be a good mod! |

CrippleHorse, I'm interested whether you also use the controller.ini settings from EOAA site.
I am not getting the feel yet, maybe I should give it an extra try.
But the sounds I'm still not yet completely happy with. They have improved since the patch, but still when quick stepping on the gas, the sound is so much louder than when keeping it steady even at high rpm's. The difference in volume seems too great. Overall I find the engine volume too soft compared to the volume of other mods. I am using a good stereo amplifier btw. But it's just my opinion and I am going to give it another try! |

Didn't check this when it got out to see how it improved, but even if one ignores the creators' approach to realistic slip curves and real data and goes "by feel" to evaluating the car, it doesn't take much to understand that this feels better than most mods. When approaching the limit of grip the car behaves in a more complex and yet predictable to those who have driven a real car close to the limit, way. It may look unusual when one compares it to his "standard" rfactor experience but that doesn't make it unrealistic, on the contrary. So give it some time to adjust your style in handling the car and see if you come up with a more natural and less of "rfactor" driving style. That'll be the "by feel" proof that something is done right here. |

Love the sound in 2nd gear at low revs........brilliant.
What's this about the realfeel plugin though? I have been having issues with realfeel last few days - it doesn't seem like it did before. Did this mod change it? How?

It's all true, the DBR9 has updated wheels, much better looking cockpit, improved sounds and slightly lower rear roll center to stop the rear stepping out too easily. |

Have actually made quite a few updates to the DBR9 through the work being done on the EOAA GT mod http://forum.eoaa.org/index.php?topic=333.0. We'll get the GT mod done and then update this one. |

No need to explain what is distortion to me. I know about sound a bit. Let's see if I can fiddle with it and come up with something better (imo). I'll post it here in case I succeed.

I think you'll find that if you race online with it and close to another car, well any louder and you won't be able to hear your own car.
Also I set the ranges to 40 meters, most mods use 80 or more. I don't like hearing a car that's far away as if it's really close from my cockpit. Using 40 meters imrpoves the fly by affect too. You can edit this if you like, it's in the sfx file just set all three range values to 80 or more. Listen to the V1.05 preview, the other car is right in front of my car and I think it's plenty loud enough.
And the video you posted, yes it's loud but also distorted. Horrible sound, the only reason it's distorted is because the mic level on the camera is too high. Distortion is not a natural phenomenon but some people like it because they mistake the distortion for loudness. True loudness comes from natural resonance, distortion is ugly IMO! |

I've installed the 1.05 straight away, so I've no clue about earlier versions. With this one though... the external engine sound is just not there. It's sort of similar but if you put other GT cars around it, you won't be able to hear the DBR9! It should be LOUD! Listen to this one. There's a Vantage GT2 and something terrifying on the background! That's the DBR9. you can't see it, but make no mistake bout it, DBR9 it is!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgN_jhxawgI
Now this mod sounds similar... but when the car is right in front of the camera it just sounds like it's on the other end of the track! Just completely lacks presence! I want it to not only outpace but also outscream the C6.R! Beat 3 colors of ***t out of it! :D
I like the sound when you lift off the trottle though, very realistic but still not loud enough.
Also tho onboard sounds should 'blend' together more like F1 cars rather than GTs. For some reason this V12 has such a special feature.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPTAv9t36IE
As for the modelling, it's brilliant. I Didn't test the physics well enough yet.
This is a definite HOF when the sounds are sorted out! |

Yea 40mb ain't much in this day and age. Will add Gigawave 08 by NUNO74, and some other slight alterations. Won't be until after Sunday though because I don't want to update before our EOAA event this Sunday. |
