Tank you for a great track.
A fast paced race on a fun and easy to remember track.
Also the .tdf file stuff mentioned below works really fine.

I must say that I was a bit concerned about the FPS issue mentioned by other posts here, as I have a pretty simple computer, and find some other tracks horrible. But to my joy there was no problem at all, great FPS preformance for me, tested both with Mclaren F1, Ferrari 430 and Renault Megane.

There is one problem on the track that I can find though.
If you cut the first corner to much and goes over the grass, you seems to hit an invisible wall, also if you skid onto the grass just after the first corner, there is some other funny effects.

Oha, yes, you´re right. Thank you.

In this case it was imagination, what I yesterday thought to recognize on the track!

But this is real:

RoadBumpAmp=0.017
RoadBumpLen=18.0

With these settings, you have (on the fastest part of the track) at the last third of start/finish straight really nice bumps, so that it feels like "much action".

But don´t forget to delete the ### at the beginning of line 13 in the gdb-file, so that the line looks like this:

TerrainDataFile=Norisring2005.tdf

Greetings.

Schwede,

Unless there is a reference to a seperate tdf for this track in the gdb, the track will use the standard tdf of rFactor.

If you make a tdf for this track, it doesn't even matter which name you give it, as long as there is a line in the gdb that points at the file. I guess you made changes to the gdb too, else you will see no difference at all.

I took the tdf-file from the folder above, changed the name to Norisring2005.tdf and changed the following section in the file, which you have to edit with f.e. notepad.exe:

[TRACKVARS]
RoadDryGrip=1.00
RoadWetGrip=0.80
RoadmetalGrip=0.80
RoadDustGrip=0.90
RoadBumpAmp=0.030
RoadBumpLen=11.0
RumbleDryGrip=0.95
RumbleWetGrip=0.60
RumbleBumpAmp=0.015
RumbleBumpLen=8.0
MiscBumpAmp=0.20
MiscBumpLen=3.0

With these settings the strengh of the existing bumps are a little bit more realistic.

Greetings.

Thanks zwiss, Fps in the new BMW mod here are very good, 200+ all around track for me. My only request for possible future updates would be more pit babes on the big screens.

For the .tdf file.
You can do it
Copy any version in any track
rename as Norisring2005.tdf
That's all!
I can do it if SWISS is ok

Zwiss, I only wanted to know, whether you are doing a tdf-file or not.

I didn´t and I don´t wanna quarrel with you.

Greetings.

@junger_sshwede
Now this is why many modders stop releasing tracks, and just keep them for themselves...
It takes many many hours of FREE time to IMPROVE a track.
I do have a familiy, a job, other hobbies, and other tracks I am working on right now.

I am always happy to read suggestions but what makes you think you have the right to DEMAND a quick response from me?
The track has just been released for a few hours....

I am really disgusted with a remark like 'Zwiss didn't read it at all' . If you send me € 100 I will fix the problem right away...
If NOT, I will do it as soon as I find the time.
YES, I read your suggestion.
NO, I do NOT have to post a reaction within hours.

:(

F2kSel, with a tdf-file the bumps will be defined.
This was one of the reasons, why I was asking for the tdf-file.
But Zwiss didn´t read it at all. :(

Greetings.

Great work Zwiss,

We all love it when track developers continue to upgrade their tracks with better versions.

Takes a lot of determination to pick up an old digital project and rework it.

Didn't mean to sound so abrupt. I respect your work since this is a very well made Norisring and I'm also a DTM fan. The thing is though, that there might be cases of people who might have just started rFactor and were drawn to it by DTM for example and would like to get this track. It just seemed a little weird at first glance and that's maybe why it struck you as me being offended by it. No hard feelings, just remembering the days when i didn't know what was what when installing my first mods on F1'01/'02 ;). I know you worked your butt off and i don't mean any disrespect for that. Keep up the good work.

Cheers
Speedy

It's a very nice track but it just feels very dull without any bumps when the surface changes.

Lol, so I figured everybody here knows how to install a track. Maybe I was wrong... but it sounds as you are offended by that phrase..?

Very cool version of this track. Nice work. But the "You know what to do!!!" under installation was definitely not needed.

Hello again,

yes, indeed, the framerate is a bit better that the v2 from indiana.
Fine! :-)

What about a tdf-file?

Greetings.

The frame rate is actually slightly better than the v2 version by Indiana ,no problems here. Thank you this is my favourite circuit only 10 more days till the DTM race.

In each case, I too would be very glad, if someone could help, increasing the framerates on this track.
For my notebook it´s very hard to get playable framerates, especially in the first hairpin.

However this is a fine and real track!

Greetings.

The frame rate is no more than many other tracks. It isn,t that bad. I think the powerful telephoto cameras tend to reduce the frame rates quite a lot.
Overall it,s a stunning track.

A nice version of the track, although it is very frame rate heavy. Unfortunately, im not a modeller, and soi can't help you there. I can put p some shots tho :D
