The screenshots that have been posted for this mod have been incredible, and a pleasure to look at....thanks guys, and keep em coming!!

And a big thanks to everyone's ratings and HOF nominations...while it would be nice to see this make the HOF, it's everyone having fun that means more.

Hope everyone's having a great time racing, and Carpe Noctem has other projects in the works with completely original material...stay tuned!!

Extract it to your Desktop, open the folder and copy the folders and files inside into your rFactor installation. Do not extract the mod directly to your install. You should have a Gamedata and RFM folder, plus a readme file. Copy those into your rFactor install location.

More team name typos:

Monster Engergy = Monster Energy

Great skin that one too.

Still going through this mod to determine who gets what car in the championship. Love the slight variations in the car skins, performance and details.

Not a big one, but all the LMP1 DOME teams except for the ELF are spelt IMLS instead of ILMS. Not sure about the LMP2 teams.

Given that every team name contains ILMS, you guys may as well knock that out of the descriptive name, and just keep the team names.

Perhaps check if you have Description Visibility toggled off...but anyway, from the description above...

'This special LMP-only version of the mod is actually part of a larger mod that contains LM-P1, LM-P2, LM-GT1 and LM-GT2 cars and classes. However for reasons which have been thoroughly explained in the ReadMe file the full version of the mod has been restricted. Nevertheless we think that you’ll still enjoy racing with the LMP-only version of our mod.
'

Need to know more?...it's explained in the readme. ;)

Maybe it would be better if the makers just deleted that part from the description as it does kind of lead one to believe are only getting 'part of a larger mod'...and might lessen these endless 'why' posts.

Pawgy, I am the Race Director at Champion Motorsports and an admin at the ILMS Endurance League. I would be the one to see any applications for membership at either of those leagues. I have seen nothing from you unless it's under another screen name. We respond to every application.

What red tape? All we ask is that you sign a Non Disclosure Agreement and / or contribute a small amount ($10.00) to the server rental kitty. Once either of those happen you will be authorized to download the league version of the Mod. However.. if you don't plan to join the league and participate in online races with us then don't bother applying. We have no interest in just collecting your money and passing out the mod. That is NOT what we are about.

Beautiful mod but i would like the whole alms package.

Although I am Not an online racer i signed up at two of the sites listed and am still not able to get the complete mod as advised in the readme because of the red tape involved and no downloads are listed after you sign up.. I would suggest to those of you who are also not online racers to forget about getting the whole package.

Too bad because the protoytypes are wonderful.

Just organising a championship of these things now for September. Dont really need the GT cars if they are off the pace by so much.

Everyone in the group gave the mod the nod. The cars race well and respond very well to setup changes if you need to fix any issues with the feel of the car.

Some of the skins are supreme. The JPS Audi, Penske Porsche, Vodafone Dome, Deutsche Telekom Lola and the Crown Royal Pescarola were exceptional quality.

The ING Porsche just needs more colour saturation. The orange is a bit flat and by just saturating the skin, it comes to life.

But overall, great stuff again. Cant wait until we race these things.

@creativeenergyMG: You can obtain the full mod by following the instructions posted in the readme file, which clearly states that three league sites have the full mod, and becoming a member of one of these leagues and following the instructions posted in the forums there will get you what you want.

I understand about your difficulty in racing online while having flex hours at work, and know that there are several leagues out there, not just the three I talked about before, that are looking for online racers to participate when they can, and let guys like yourself know that the league is there when you CAN race, and when you can't they're still there as a place to talk about online and real racing. It's a community of people with interests like yours, and it never hurts to seek out new friends in this ever-shrinking world.

Please understand that what's posted here is what should be referred to as the full mod in the first place, and nothing more was ever promised to the community, and we feel lucky that we're able to give out what we have here thanks to the generosity of others who made parts of this mod and allowed us to include them in this package.

For the league-specific version of the mod, well, just go find one of the leagues listed in the readme, and there are posts with instructions on what to do next.

Hope to race with you on the track one day, and best wishes.

Have you even read the read me file? EVERYTHING is explained in there.

As for shift work... we now have a "World League" that races Tuesdays Evenings Euro time (12:00 Noon EST) so you CAN participate in the league that has full access to the mod. No more excuses...... unless you just want to bitch... If someone leaks it to the net they will be censored from ALL league activity.. their loss.

to whom it may concern.
I respect and understand the reasons for holding back the full version of this mod for regular league racers and members.
But what about people like myself who have to work shifts so league racing is out of the question?.
Also you cannot get the full version by signing up to one of the listed league sites so why release a small part to the public.
I cannot speak for all of the people but from what i see there is an interest in this mod and as time has been spent getting it good for league members why not make it available for people buy asking for contributions to your expensive league servers.
That way your league sites benefit and also does the racing community that also races offline.
I am sure for a small amount people would be happy that they could get this mod.
It saddens me that by only making a partial release to the public you are discriminating against those who love to race but just do not have the time for league committment due to families, work and other day to day activities.
Unless its made available our only hope is for someone to leak it onto the net and im sure one day that will happen.

Wow f1rac3r, that's a good constructive comment!
You don't have to like it, but maybe you can mention the parts that you think are of low quality. The kind of comment you are placing is not good to anybody.

Thanks for the detailed response Mike :)

Speaking personally, it's not so much that they are easy (although I think you'd be hard pressed to set up a real LMP car to be as forgiving as these are - have driven Radicals IRL, so have a very small insight) it's more the fact that performance is 'fudged' to bring them all in line for League racing.

Again, totally appreciate the reasoning for doing so and that you had to work especially hard at the setups to make them this good, but alternative 'real' performance stats and physics files - perhaps as purchasable upgrades, for example, if possible - would be really appreciated at some stage.

Like I say though, kudos for such a well thought out mod - perfect for the intended purpose :)

To: Everyone
RE: The physics and the perception that the cars are easy to drive:

Yes, they are. However...

What you probably don't realize is the extraordinary amount of time that went into developing the default setups for each car. Again with the League Racing thought in mind; A lot of people just don't have the hours it takes to develop a good setup. So we decided to go ahead and develop the default setups well enough so that most anyone could get into a car and start driving without having to worry too much about the setup.

Now is it the fastest setup possible? Probably not, but each default setup was intentionally designed to be stable as opposed to being fast. Once you've spent some serious amount of time testing and trying out some of the various setup options you'll find that it's actually pretty easy to make the car be very difficult to drive. For example the default differential settings are all fairly low. However if you crank them up to say 80/80 or better you'll discover that the car has a very different handling characteristic and you may need or want traction control turned on because the difference is so great. Another example would be to try and turn the wings down as low as they will go and see what sort of lap times you can turn. You'll find everything is okay as long as you stay at relative street legal speeds or generally travel in a straight line, but at speed your lap times will suffer greatly IF you can manage to keep the car on the track.

So don't be fooled by the ease of the drive when you first get in. The only reason it's easy is because we've already set the car up for you. Once you start racing more seriously and trying to keep the tire temps in the proper range and still log a faster lap time or adjusting for different tracks, you'll find that one setting in the wrong direction can put a serious kink in your "easy drive" and the car you thought was easy to drive will become quite evil. lol! ;-)

Well the reason is very clear as stated in the readme and also in previous posts in this comment area. It's just the way it is, but if you want you can obtain the rest. See the readme. But even the mod as released publicly is indeed very great!

And when the parts that Shug mentioned are going to be implemented in the future I guess this is even going to be a perfect mod!

@tmb722 - In the online readme there's a link to the painting guide, which contains instructions for painting and file formats as well as links to the templates for download.

@Jetfan4life - There are several skins contained in this mod that are real-life, as well as fictional ones. I can't recall if the Fernandez Racing skin is in here, but if not you can paint one up with the templates.

@Shug - While we said there was not continued interesting in working on this mod any longer, we never say never...and your constructive comments are very much appreciated, and we will take them into thought should we continue working on this mod.

Thanks everyone for your praise and comments, it makes all the sleepless nights worthwhile to know that others are enjoying the work put into this mod!

Love the models - excellently done. Cars are also very easy to drive, which is what you were aiming for, to give good close league racing - totally appreciate that.

Being picky, I'd love to see some alternate physics available, which really model how these cars actually handle (see Euskadi for facts on this) for those like me who like to use them offline to play with settings, etc. Also, could use a sound pack to get rid of the low-revving V8s where there should be screamers.

Also, the FF comes very close to spoiling it for me - set up RF as per the instructions but it feels synthetic and false compared to some of the benchmark mods.

Don't take this as whining - it's a great collection of cars and works perfectly for the purpose for which it was designed. Also read the ReadMe and your comments that you don't want to develop anything new for it for a while. However, I do feel these comments should be used for constructive criticism as well as pats on the back.

Excellent for purpose, but I'd love to see the cars in a mod for my kinda purpose! rF is missing a *definitive* hardcore sim endurance mod.

I have to admit it would be pretty cool to see the Bentley and the Courage in this mod if Mike and Tim ever get the fire to add anything more to it! :) that's really cool of you to offer that up as an option.
