re: Toronto ICR2 Congratulations for bringing another track back from the dead.
You should be given a lot higher marks, considering the work you had done to convert this from a 13 year old game and updating it to the point you did.
Amazing that you are getting bashed in the ratings. When people with half the talent and know how would have been able to accomplish something near this great. Especially, if they only knew what you had to start from.
Just thought I would offer you kudos for you hard un-paid labor of love.
You work is well appreciated from my end..

re: Accelerama 10000 Yeah ... in the end, that is the only reason I make tracks. I do it as a way to relax and enjoy what I create. I work on it until I get bored with it or am statisfied on the results.

re: Accelerama 10000 Yeah, I know of that site ... I have downloaded a bunch of the textures ...
But I am trying to go "one step beyond" with this track.
I know it is a "FANTASY" labled track, but is is being based off a real place and area. My goal is to create the image of that same area and use trees and even weeds of that same general location.
I have been taking my camera along with me, while riding my Harley up thru this mountain region (I go up into this hills often - like last weekend). I keep snapping away and out of about 100 pictures of various tree shots ... I have about 4 that I can actually work with ... But that's still not enough to make me happy I need (want) a bigger variation ... that is a lot of texture clean-up to get it so I can mask out a decent tree.
Then I have been on the "WEED" kick ... as I need to have roadside weeds to help out with the crappy transistions between road and terrain.
All of which means ... How much work do I really want to do on this track ... its a TIME issue ...lol
And depending on how much I think the track will be appreciated.
By the amount of interest shown on this project ... I am starting to second guess how much effort I will invest ...

re: Accelerama 10000 Well ... once I find better canidates for my Sequoias ... I can make new textures ...
The gmts are simple 4 poly/two plane objects. And even those are starting to drag on the fps in some areas ... only cause of using both dynamic and textured shadowing ...
The amount of work I went thru just to find these pictures of the sequoia trees took a couple of days of searching and then I had to Work them over, just to get a decent looking DDS out of what I had to work with ...
So if I find better and have time to work on them, while I am doing everything else ... maybe ... (like I made my own rock textures, grass textures, side of the road textures ... I usually do or rework all my textures for every track I every made. Guess thats why all my tracks look like S**T and get rated low with no respect by a few people, who have never made a track in thier life from scratch!
I'll spend another 20 plus hours to make them so someone else can say they look like crap, then extract the textures and use them for thier stuff in 5 minutes!
LOL

re: Barking Creek Well AI shifting gears is not a problem of the track.
It's got to do with the mod setting your using ... ORR1, ORR2, ORR2.1 and VORRA Mods have a special selection for offline use on any of the Dirt tracks ...

That is what you will find if you try to download the RBR Free Version being advertised here. According to BitDefender Antivirus Plus V10 (up to date).

re: Accelerama 10000 @DMZ: I just don't like mods that force there UI on you without warning, or the option to install it.
Do I have the issue of not being able to catch it before I load it ... NO.
Do I use the STOCK ISI UI ... No
Sorry if I offended you.
But why are all these comments being made in my track comment area?
Somebody asked a question ... I gave advide without going off too badly on how I dislike UI hijackers ...
there are a few exceptions ... and I wont mention the mods ... but even still ...
Mod makers should make it an option to install a new UI.
I just happen to know a little bit about nothing ... so I NEVER install a mod blindly into the game ...
Its a good practice and recommend that everyone learn to see what's inside a mod, BEFORE it's installed.
I now return you back to the Accelerama track bashing thread ...
LOL

re: Accelerama 10000 Sounds like another case of the new mod UI hijacker ...
Mod makers love to force their works on you when you download thier work ... now days ... almost every new car mod that comes out ... they seem to love to overwrite your original rFactor UI and start up splach screens with there own.
I am not sure exactly what you need to do, but you could try searching for help over at http://forum.racesimcentral.com
I believe there may even be a section on this site that may have the answer to correct this problem. If I was at home and not at work I could offer maybe a few possible solutions, but I dont have the game installed here to look over the file stuctures ...
Sorry I can't offer more assistance.

Mod makers love to force their works on you when you download thier work, to see it everytime you load rF... now days ... almost every new car mod that comes out ... they seem to love to overwrite your original rFactor UI and start up splach screens with their own. I hate this practice and wish that if they want to create a new UI, the could make it an option rather than just overwrite upon install ... (Which is why you should never install directly into the game!)

re: Accelerama 10000 LOL ... its safe for now ... but the closer I get to finishing it ... the more "UNSAFE" it will become! I do not show much mercy for those who like to venture off the track in search of short-cuts ...
Meaning ... there are more rocks to be planted and other not so nice things to run into! ...

re: Accelerama 10000 A fully raceable ALPHA version has been posted ...
there is a lot of work yet to do still.
However you can take it for a test drive ... 36 pit stalls and 3 times that for a starting grid and garage spots.

re: Schwabenland GP yeah .... FPS is not a problem ... but then I have a 8800GTX ... so there better not be a problem ...
all joking aside ... the FPS is not a major swing from high to low FPS under extreme race conditions with everything maxxed out in DX9, x16AA and 2o car visable starting grid
track is looking very good ... can I swipe some objects? lol

re: New Ridge Valley Well, I don't know what you're using for a video card and monitor guys ....
All I know is what I see and that is what I go by.
I have a 8800GTX powering a HP w2408h running at 1920x1200. I have everything max'd out ... and FPS is not an issue.
I am very pleased with the way the tracks look.
If somebody else cares to do better texture work, be my guess. I want to see the end results.
I have invested way more time than I care too on this track.

I just found the problem and will be posting a new rev.
It seems I saved the wronng GMT type ...
It worked for the Reverse tracks ... but somehow I had a senior moment when saving the gmt for the forward direction tracks ...
I will be posting revsion 1.03 shortly.

re: Historic GT & Touring Cars AFTER SWIPING A "copy" of GTL we had laying around at work (legally) ...
I don't care what people complain about (they are the ones who are lossing out) ...
THIS mod is simply the BEST and has raised the bar regardless of who did what and where all the parts came from to put all of it together and give it to rFactor!
Now I don't even care if NAGT ever gets released (No offence, but after 2 years of waiting ...)
I now have a VETTE, a COBRA and a PANTERA! 3 of my all time favorite cars ever ...
And I have fallen in love with the new UI interface.
Thank you for all involved in the packaging of this fantastic addition to rFactor and for the community.
It is truly a marvelous piece of work deserving of its HOF induction.

re: Desert Mesa The track was fully functional ... Pit Stops were rarely needed during a race ... due to the type of track it is.
Nobody ever noticed or ever complained about the lap not couunting during a pit stop (if they needed a pit stop, chances was they were out of the race already!)
I realized the pit problem when I started doing 30 lap races ...
It was a oversight by not extending the xfinish all the way across the pit lane. This was the last upgrade.
The upgrade before it opened up the "WORLD" without restrictions and included more layouts.
The excuse in packaging is I was not as worried about it at the time. I now know that some people are not as computer savoy as others and do not read well (but that is another issue).
Is the track worthy ... I don't know ... others seem to think so ...

re: Desert Mesa Well I would suggest to learn to read the readme file.
Learn to look what your downloading.
Learn to extract a zip or Rar file to a seperate location before you install ...
And as far as the history of the upgrade on this track ... there has only been two since it has been first released ...
I have seen tracks rev'd 3 times in less than a week.
If that is your best complaint, seems like you're the one having problems ... the greater majority, who have downloaded this track have not had these problems.
So there must be another issue, and it's not the track maker or the track with the problem.

re: New Ridge Valley Thanks all for the Great comments.
But, one glaring fact remains! this track is not getting the love I had expected in the rating department. The RFC BS continues when it comes to the kidplay.
Thus, the FEW bad apples have made me think I am too old to play here anymore.
Sunset Mesa and Rock Island will now be on indefinate hold.
It is not worth my time to give out so much effort to see it trashed.
So for those who Liked my work. I am sorry. You can thank the resident aholes that vote s**t down for fun.
And yes, Ratings is the modders only real payment and comments are used to gage his efforts. When Comments and ratings don't make since ... it doesn't take a genius to figure out whats up.
Now its time to go riding! My Harley calls!

I had to upload a patch for the reverse track AIW ...
I added the wrong one when I zipped up the upload earlier at work and found out once I tested it out at home.

re: BMW M1 ProCar 1979-1980 ajp - sadly if you make a valid criticism of something that is undeniably miles out you just get people not even involved with this mod trying to defend it through insults and ignorance...
This still should not stop anyone for making a valid statement on something you feel is wrong with a mod. Regardless on what the dweebs and itards may fire back with.
Any information is useful as long as it is done right and with respect.
That is something that has been lacking in this community for a while now.
This is not saying it applies to everyone. As there are plenty in this place I have great respect for ... but its the few a-holes that crawl out of the closet to ruin it for many, leaving a bad impression with a majority of those who do visit and read the comment section.
And I hate to see such a great rFact support site go in the direction of other great resource sites ...
Having to wade thru crap to get to the few decent nuggets of info.
And now I will vacate before I contribute more to the crap pile ... LOL

re: BMW M1 ProCar 1979-1980 @ 51!N:
Your one of the rare exceptions and my reply was not directed at you. As you did explain in reasonable manners as to what you had problems with. I feel that is the way it should be.
And I agree with your last statement as well ... I gave it a good 50 laps at New Ridge Valley (a good 150+ miles) before it got my "5's"
LOL
Personally, its right up there with the Vette, Caterham and several other outstanding mods ... The Caterham is another one of those mods that really deserve the "HOF" moniker IMHO

re: BMW M1 ProCar 1979-1980 I do not understand why this mod has the rating it does. It definitely is worthy of a lot higher than its current 448!
It is a very decent mod and I don't particularly like BMWs! However, this mod is very well done and deserves better. And this belongs in the HOF!.
This place is becoming ridiculous in how some people are determined to Hose over mods and Tracks based on a popularity contest instead of the quality of the mod or tracks released!
Frankly, I think its time for all this to stop and for people to start rating stuff more fairly.
If you cannot then do not vote. If you do vote a mode down, at least be fair enough to give some decent explanation as to why so the Modder has an Idea on what to attempt to correct if warranted and a valid critique.

re: New Ridge Valley "help after install this on all mods the bumper cam is revers
up at bottom and bottom at up"
I do not understand on how a track can cause this problem you are experincing. The track does not determinte your car cams.
You may try to adjust you seating position in your game setting. You may need to adjust it in your PLR, but I don't recommend this unless you know what your doing.
Sorry that you are having this problem, but it is not track related as far as I can tell.
