Yet to look at the track but I will do soon as its getting some great comments and I like road oval circuits. But this might solve your problem. The line at the top of the scn file dictates how far the maximum it can see no matter what you have your LOD value set on per GMT. So if you set the scn file to see 1500 meters and then lower everything else accordingly that should help you.

Do you know who I feel sorry for most? Pete. Every bloody week there is someone whinning about something and every week he has to wade through all this crap to make someone happy. If the models are stolen then this mod should be scrapped from RFC. It it isnt then everyone should stop bloody whinning!

Great track, I like tracks with lots of elevations, a couple of observations though.

You need to have captial letters in the RFM file for the name of the track so it appears in Alphabetical order. It took me a while to find it in my 200 tracks! :)

A couple of BTB textures, quick tweak or repaint hides them and doesnt make it so obvious what you built it in. And also if it is made in BTB you should of used the blend feature just so all the grass doesnt look the same.

Other than I like this track alot. I prefer the short version mind you.

Great mod guys, great models and sounds and physics but. Sorry for the but, but the ai seem abit wonky to me. I did a few races with them last night with 30 cars on track and they do act strange compared to other mods. They seem extremely cautious on the race to turn 1. And for some reason a couple of the drivers race off into the distance leaving a pack of 25 cars trailing or dordling along behind. Not seen this in the other mods I have tried. But great models and paintjobs.

Ive been a big fan of this mod since day one and when the new version came out I downloaded it straight away. Unfortunatley it wasnt until later that night I got to test it as I was busy with the meganes and the porsches. But eventually I got to test it and at the time it was late but I thought couple of laps before zzzzzz time. Anyway at the time my heart sunk as I couldnt drive it at all. I was so dissapointed. Anyway today I thought I would give it another go and after a few laps I started to get the hang of it. Well 5 minutes ago I finished a 45 minute race and at the end of it I was buzzzing my b**bs off.

So it just goes to show that these mods need percy vear ance (ha ha) and lots of patience. Im sure your opinions vary a fair bit on each mod depending on what your use to as different types of cars need totally different driving habits. I must admit though that the Porsches and the Meganes are rear wheel drive so you wouldnt of thought the differences to be that great. I guess the main difference is the total lack of grip these cars have.

Anyway enough babble, The short version of this umph is thank you once again for a fantastic mod.

Keep it up Dawg, I love that track. Ha ha I wonder how many polies a dodge viper was back in its day. Now all we need is Dodge Viper AI. Thats about the nearest I ever got to racing a human. Oh by the way you can tweak a file in Dodge Viper so you can have 16 cars instead of 8 on track. Cant remember which one though! :)

Thank you guys, it means alot. I know since Steves death his wife has been moved by the internets comments towards his work and ambitiion.

Also guys we are all entitled to an opinion so if someone things its boring and crap I dont care. Yeah constructive critism is alot better to read but Ive been doing this for long enough now to realize that you cant please everyone.

By the way I do also think that this track can be dull in the wrong car. When I designed the track I generally did most of the test runs in a V8 as I always wanted it be suitable for this type of car. But one thing I did learn was alot of the corners felt very similar and shared similar speeds. Lets take for example the banked bend in the T section. Well this corner in a V8 is 3rd or 4th gear I believe and a million miles away from flat out despite givng it having lots of banking. So I pulled out of the bag the good old GSMF Porsche and this track becomes alot more varied. The two cars share similar lap times due to the v8s top speed but the porsche more than makes up for it in the corners. I tried this track with a number of different cars in the end and one corner felt very special in all the cars. The corner after the 360 degree corner where you cross the track. This corner was pretty much made by pure accident and dare I say it but probably bad modelling!! :) But it was one corner I wasnt going to change. Every lap it was a pleasure to drive this corner. Basically throw the car as close to the wall as possible and get some air and then catch the slide. The AI also do exactly same through this section. So for me my favourite 3 corners on this track and it has enough of them are Turn 1, The Banked T corner and one of my favourite corners of all time is the corner after the 360.

I did learn also that this track isnt very good in any open wheeler and I was also expecting it be good fun in some of lower power cars but that didnt turn out to be the case either.

Anyway thanks for reading my waffle and keep commenting as I read them all.

Yeah i could undestand you asking as well. The track went up on rfc a few months ago now and at the time it was on 95% and it still is. It is actually the rwd rallycross mod thats holding back these tracks. My painters seem to of desserted me :)

Yeah I totally agree. Way back god knows when is when I made this track for GPL. I think it was probably the first ever real track I attempted and back then GPL would of been terrible on this track if it had been its proper width. And these days when I look at this track its kind of cringy. This place needs a revamp for sure but at the moment its not on the list of things to do.

Also a fan of this era and hope if this is a success we might see the other cars. But like Spanner it looks so much different ingame. Is it a case of just a good render or have you reduced some of the detail? Might also drag over a few more GPL fans hopefully. My homes!! :)

Yeah I guess the links are abit mixed up here. Never got round to releasing the newer version as the ai were having crazy moments at the start and I couldnt fix it. But I managed to over ride the old version when thinking this one was ready.

Err dont laugh!! I havent a clue. Ive never made a track with a rolling start in place so I honestly havent a clue. But I do know if you have yellow flags turned on the pace car does come out as I swear alot when I forget to turn them off! :)

Okay for a start the reason for my short answer is I dont know. And I still havent a clue! :)

Can you confirm that your Opponents graphic detail is on full and you dont have Auto FPS turned on.

If you open up corhuman_upgrades. There should be a section what looks like this. This is the right rear wheel and the lods turn it off after 600 meters. So unless you have bloody good eye sight and you can see 600 meters err pass!!

To start with RWD Rallycross mod will come with Opel Manta, Lancia Stratos and MK2 escort unless we track down any other cars. But we do have permission on a few unreleased cars which are yet to be released in other mods.

And im back! About 1 hour later. Loved the drive!! Yeah this track brings back happy memories to me. Unfortunatley it brings backs a few too many memories as well. Ha ha if I can possibly say this it looks far too much like the original and needs a 2008/RFactorization. Absoultley love the track though as its a total blast and great racing against the ai. You need to UP normals on those trees by the way and probably give them a new texture. So for me its a definate keeper and with a few more shadows and abit less popup and some alternative textures to Nascar 2003s it would be a wow factor track for me.

Great track, dont remember this one in GPL unlike Mike and I bet it wasnt as much fun in a GPL car as what it is today either. Loved it, love the way it looks and drives. The only thing I didnt like was it lacked shadows, some of those trees trackside casting shadows on the track would of given the track extra depth and the popup as you head towards turn 2 really is annoying. So I say up the lod values on those pop up trees and add a few shadows and I will give this track a 5 out of 5!!!
