re: Bathurst Legends 1969
Love the physics, and the sounds, no idea why I can have a full field running smoothly if a Ford is selected, but with the Holden in view everything FPS goes to crap - even a static camera with 10 or 15 cars in view, if I tap + or - to get a Holden FPS dies, tap again to a Ford and its all sweet. I didn't get any backfiring at all in the Ford, and not sure if this is normal? I had to move the internal mirror to where it is in reality for the same reasons of clipping and such mentionned before, its modelled in the wrong position by default, and there are a number of other tweaks that need attention - months ago someone offered a photo on your own forums for the air/radio/etc. part of the XW dash - which you replied to positively - but haven't updated since that initial screenshot. Things like that are disappointing after all the hype and the delays pending "perfection" but you certainly have encapsulated what its like to drive... the power, torque, traction, gear shifts, its all awesome once I got RealFeel set up.

So from here, do we expect further tweaks graphically, like the steering wheel and tacho needle that don't have centre axis', or can we look forward to the next year of cars? If we know this is the level of work to expect then please go forth with gusto and continue with further years!

re: Adelaide 88-95
Rickylix / RacerM - Google has just launched "Street View" in for Australia, should compliment the wealth of research photos already sent your way...

re: Bathurst Legends 1969
Owning, driving, loving - and occasionally "racing" these kinds of cars has me absolutely champing at the bit in readiness for release. What you hope to have captured EK in their requirement for finess and care, while also raw and untamed, is exactly what I love about them, and I can't wait to see how you've managed to incorporate this into rFactor.

re: BMW M6
Great news - I am really looking forward to the improvements! And street cars in general.

re: Sport Cars Challenge
I don't want to take sides, I think there's some very poor behaviour in the comments below, but just to sum up what I and other members of the community are feeling: We can monitor the progress of an exciting conversion project, knowing it is a conversion, if we so wish. We should not be lead to believe anything is scratchbuilt if it is not, and with that honesty you will receive support and kudos as you go. Converting is NOT hard work at all, anyone can process a simple conversion in a day or two - but lets all wait to see, these may be excellent quality for all we know. Finally, I point to this line:
"This Thread Body has 2 parts: 1st:Mods that are already finished and can be purchased directly through Paypal in any minute, and 2nd: Mods that are requested and are under development at the moment."
Directly quoted from the first page of the author's forum - stating, obviously, that at least some of these mods are NOT FREE and as such this may not be the place to discuss them at all.

re: Ultimate Realism Mod
Nice. All of our computers' limitiations and rFactor's own draw-backs asside, here we get a chance at something modelled completely real - on real data, etc., so that the ONLY factors restricting our simulation experience are those of the hardware we own, and the chance is ruined by yet another smart alec.

I hope its not dead completely, the hard work of some around here is extremely appreciated, efforts that lead to the C6 Vette, and Kangaloosh CarFactory, Caterhams, and so forth I hope inspire RichieSpeed to pursue his search for the ultimate in tyre and surface modelling, so that we all may benefit.

re: Eastern Creek Laser
I'd like to volunteer my own time to walk the Mallala circuit which is my local track; I can arrange meeting with owners (Clem Smith) and such, I just don't have a laser scanner laying around, nor the skills to collate the 3D data into a track, but I'd be happy to spend the time at this end.

re: Eastern Creek Laser
Well, there's no point me saying "gee its better than blah blah blah version" becuase its Laser! Every little undulation - I imagine - is accurate, is it not? Is there ANY artistic freedom going on here, or is it 100% perfect like it seams?

The grass/dirt textures are surprisingly accurate despite their resolution, though some buildings are yet to rise from the ground (wouldn't the laser have modelled all the buildings accurately too?).

My ONLY "feedback" is around material properties, and its minor, but the concrete strip to the outside of the last corner, leading onto the main straight, feels like dirt rather than cement. Be nice to put more detail into the roads around the circuit, the tunnel and public roads down the line - but Piddy this is breathtaking to believe I am experiencing the actual surface and track.

May be a while before I go back to Nords...

re: Spirit of 76
Great idea hiding the Rover V8 powered model, with its own sounds and physics in there... are there any other "secrets" I haven't found yet?

re: Bugatti Veyron
I put some screenshots up but as I'm not the author, merely an assistant, the photos were soon removed for fear of "illegal mod" pics; which I completely understand. However, over at NoGrip I've been able to post a few pics of this beast coming together.

re: XC Ford Falcon Coupe
Big fan of the coupes here - I'm in Adelaide and own an XB coupe, recently fitted a fuel injected big block into her, 7.5 litres of economical computerised goodness! I hope you get all the sublte curves just right.

re: Bugatti Veyron
It can't blow the tyres after 14 minutes - because it runs out of fuel in 12 (or something if I recall) - RSTRATTON has modelled the physics well. Watch the tyre heat down Mulsanne Straight flatout!

You do realise how far a car travels at 400km/h over 15 minutes, right? Find a straight that long and go for it!

Still a bit to go, its coming along steadily - but I can't speak on behalf of the author.

re: 288 GTO Challenge
"Try to install again the mod...We never noticed any problem with this sorry,"by Ranieri on 09-Apr-08.******** Actually I reported this same problem here weeks ago, CTD with headlight.tex error. I have downloaded twice from different links and reinstalled many times. It makes no sense for this to work standalone but not with other working cars; and it is important to me to drive this mod with some other street vehicles.

re: Bugatti Veyron
You are right - it is not. Colours are done now, just tweaking material properties and reflections at the moment. I have 30 official cars including Pür Sang and Hermès editions, all with correct paint and trim colours.

re: Thermalito
I suppose you could run the extra grid spots around the corner and up the prior straight... but I think 36 will more than suffice!
