IMSA GTP sorry to hear you had problems with your install.
The Historic mod can operate within an existing rFactor install that includes other cars and tracks - that is why there isn't a warning. Hard to say what went wrong in your situation.
Given the size of the mod however quite a few people have chosen to create a separate a rFactor install for the Historic mod - something rFactor Lite makes quick and easy to do.

szekto not cookies, but cache and history. If you're then still seeing blocked images while browsing www.rfactorcentral.com, it is probably your personal privacy settings that are too aggressive making your browsing appear as leeching. Zone Alarm for example sometimes has this problem. Either make an exception for rfactorcentral or lower the relevant setting.

Phil part of the problem is that your initial posts to FSONE 2007 just after the release were not helpful in their tone, which people read and are still reacting to. Perhaps in this case it would be better to offer your suggestions regarding improvements to the mod to Codex privately.
I'd really prefer to not have to enable comment moderation (on any mod), so let's get back to posting relevant constructive comments. To save everyone's time and energy, anything else will be deleted from now on in the FSONE 2007 comments area.

not sure angus94. What O/S are you running? I don't think connection speed is the prob as I run IDM no probs on a few servers I access remotely to download and move files around with more than 1500

Codex and team, my apologies for not being around to put a stop to some of the behaviour in the comments area for FSONE 2007. I've been in transit AU > USA.

ezwriter as the news and link state, the texture update was made by 6e66o.
Texture updates have been made for many tracks over the last couple of years e.g. see Track Textures by SLN in the Addons area on RFC. Generally there has been no need for documentation etc.
In the case of this particular texture update, the signage and rumblestrips are replaced with red goodies, along with alternative grass, trees and a couple of other things.
To try it out for yourself download and unzip the contents to the Northamptonshire folder. The files can always be removed if you prefer the original version.
ISI has no issue with guys releasing texture updates for the default tracks, and in this case I think they fully expected it would happen soon after the track was released - as it did - to make the track more lifelike.

There's a chance the sound files for this mod are missing from the Sound Packs I put together for rFactor Lite. I'm updating those atm to be sure, should have it uploaded within the next hour.

Pancho the 11 part Rapidshare files are 7-Zip files (look in the Addons / Game Utilities area for info on 7-Zip):
- Install 7-Zip
- Download the 11 parts
- Unpack the file ending in 001
7-Zip will then automatically reassemble the 11 parts to create the exe installer for the mod.

billdylan you'll need to have 7-Zip or Winrar installed. Right Click on the 001 file and choose 'Extract to...' wherever suits you. 7-Zip will automatically piece all the segments back together creating the exe installer for the mod. NOTE: Before you do this, you'll need to have downloaded all 11 parts.

kendo the HistorX team made it clear how this mod would be released many months ago, in their own forums, on RaceSimCentral and here on rFactorCentral.
The arguments for and against were exhausted a long time ago.
As has been said many times over already - not everyone is expected to agree with the mod. That doesn't mean however that disrespectful posts and personal attacks are going to be tolerated here.
