re: V8Factor
@butakup:

Garages and pit spots are determined by the track's AIW file. You'll find that many tracks have a shared pit spot for the cars in the garage (often 2 cars per pit spot). Its a normal part of the way tracks are built in rFactor. As for the pit crew ready indicator, if it doesn't tell you when another car is in the pit spot then I guess it's a glitch in rFactor. Its not related to V8Factor.

You'll often find answers to your questions at the following official V8Factor forum (and you'll get quicker responses to questions too):

"you never told us why there was no skin pack to 1.2 or if you were going to do 1. as there is a 2008 pack out there is it that orsm wont endorse the use of it or conbine it to the patch
would be great if you could shed some light on the subject..."

The v1.2 patch was for the 2006 mod. It was primarily a physics patch and was never going to be anything more. We are producing a 2008 mod so that's where you'll find 2008 skins ;). We only release work from within the team - we never co-release other people's work. Why? Because we don't.

"...again thanks for the time you have put into the orsm v8 factor mod. also is there a possibility of an update where there are more tyre options which they do have in real life, like soft tyres medium wet weather tyres..."

Glad you like the MOD :). The real V8 Supercars actually don't have those other tyre options - except wets and due to the lack of wet weather in rF (apart from some dedicated wet tracks of recent times) we haven't put them in. Tyre physics is a big job.

"...and why is it the holden has more options in the cockpit detail and view there are other feachers not available to..."

The Holdens have an extra vertical bar which runs up past the driver's window and can obscure right side vision. The option to remove that isn't in the Ford because they don't have it in the first place. Other features not available are because they are not available in the real V8 series :).

re: Eastern Creek Laser
@ cyruscloud: Actually you've never been the only one using satellite images in tracks - thats how we did the terrain for Bathurst ;).

@ D painter: That problem is caused by having GMT files in your Locations folder. Never install GMT files straight into the Locations folder as they will override ALL objects with the same name in ANY tracks you have installed. In your case you must have had a skyboxi.gmt sitting in there which expects to find a BKA.dds file. Thats a horizon texture from an ISI skybox but Eastern Creek doesn't have that texture, so therefore it couldn't load. Just deleting that and any other GMT's in the locations folder would have fixed it for you.

@ Mario-C: See my explanation above about GMT files in the Locations folder. Delete any GMT files from there and you should be fine.

"I would appreciate it very much if someone could explain why Bathurst will not load any cars for me, including the V8 Supercars, with the error message in every case citing a problem opening a material (from the car) and its texture."

Please post any help requests in our official forum at RSC and try to include more specific information so that we can more easily help you.

re: V8Factor
There are penty of v1.2 servers online - its just that rFactor's lobby has a bug that means it shows all the servers with your own installed version number instead of the server's version. Nothing to do with our mod just an rFactor bug. Give it time, and soon all servers will have updated to v1.2 and you can play anywhere online :).

re: V8Factor
LOL its never enough is it! We have no plans to produce a full v1.2 file. If someone wants to give me a substantial pay rise to make the effort I might re-consider ;).

re: V8Factor
For those getting mismatches - you are most likely trying to join v1.1 servers that have not yet upgraded. rFactor's lobby seems to display the version number that you have installed yourself not the version number that the server has installed. So you may think you are joining a V8Factor v1.2 server but in fact you are probably joining a v1.1 server. Look for those servers who note "v1.2" in their name and try to join one of those.

re: V8Factor
NOTE FOR MANUAL INSTALLATIONS: DUE TO A BUG, MANUAL INSTALLATIONS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED. THERE IS AN AUTORUN BATCH ROUTINE WHICH IS A REQUIRED PART OF INSTALLATION AND DOES NOT WORK IN SOME CASES WITH MANUAL INSTALLATION. A FIX FOR THOSE AFFECTED WILL BE POSTED SOON.

NOTE: The Bathurst track is updated in this installer to v1.2 however due to an oversight the the version number remains at v1.1. We are considering ways to address this.

Apologies for these oversights.
