Description (Click to toggle Visibility)

Well this track comes as even a surprise to myself. I think I made this track about 5 years ago for Nascar 2003 and now in 2008 MotorFX has converted it and done alot of work on it to bring it upto todays RFactor standards. Due for release very soon. One of the classic tracks from back in the 90s around Birminghams Streets.

version 1.2
reduced the poly count on most of the larger track sections to help further improve the FPS , separated objects from the track section, so shadows work better, a manhole covers now interact with FFB , added static marshalls, made some new models, the main ones are the garages, and the addition of the underpass, the mosque, aswell as few others, added more trees around some sections, remapped and tidied up some of the buildings, added roof materials on some , added a few new buildings that were there at the time of the event,
updated aiw, partly to enable the use of 45 garages and the way cars now join the track,

thanks to my nephew Gary, who happened to have an old world circuits book ,
thanks to Mark and Terry for tracking down the few superprix film clips...and thanks to Pirenzo, who has since made a gpl version,
it all enabled me to remodel and place some new objects to add to this updated version!

before installing and running the new version , please remove the earlier birmingham superprix, and the associated hat file from your UserData/log folder
hope you like the improvements and find they add a little more to the immersion value ..

the night time screenshots are not from version 1.2, and I have since removed the night link to prevent any further confusion with this version 1.2, may offer the bonus night track on seperate page?

cheers Ken

Emmm yeah, used to race with the guy who built this track, if it's the one I remember it works great. And Almost 4 years on, who cares what anyone thinks. Nice job, one of my favourite tracks to hustle the F5000 through!

werst59. I understand your problems, but it looks mental on the map and the hairpin is wrong. i dont want to make people upset, but it just isnt right.

Rockett_man, WHAT??WHAT?? OH, that's right, your the final word. Get real, it's a track, you don't love it anymore because you found a layout difference, WHAT?

Not to speak of the fact that this tracks author released it almost 2 years ago, do you really think he is going back and correct anything to do with it, He has moved on and so should you, if you enjoy driving it then do so or simply hit delete, imho.

I downloaded this track and loved it. Then i decided to download fazerbox's Map Plugin and discovered a major problem, The straight towardsthe hairpin after the chicane after turn 1 is too short. So, using Google Earth, i found the hairpin on the track used for rFactor is at Logmore street and Horton Square. This is instead of traveling down to a roundabout with tarmac down the middle, so it doesnt have to turn right before left. Please sort out because i will give it a bad rating otherwise.
