Known issues....

None that we remember

This release features reworked physics for all cars, that more accurately model the real life components and fully utilise the "RealFeel" FFB plugin.

The start folder of the archive is "rfactor", so if your install is "c:/games/rfactor" you need to extract to "c:/games".

There are no extra skins folders in this release
Delete the old "caterham" folder from your "vehicles" folder before extracting (backup any skins you want to keep 1st, as there are no extra skins folders in this release)

Main changes from v1.0a ...

All cars have had reworked physics that more accurately model the real life components and to make full use of the "realfeel" FFB plugin.

The 3 types of tyre are now graphically represented by the sidewall and tread.

10 spoke wheels are paintable by having an EXTRA1 texture with the same name as the main skin. The canvas cover has had a makeover and is also paintable by having an EXTRA2 texture with the same name as the main texture... IE my_skin.dds, my_skinEXTRA1.dds & my_skinEXTRA2.dds

A new main skin template is included for Photoshop.

A new rollbar is included in the upgrades. Real track rules insist on at least this type of rollbar for track use.

1 or 2 bugs have been squished and other minor graphical adjustments made.

Enjoy til v.2 :D

I've found the way to fix the issue with the fuel filler. The file cd_body_b.dds inside cat.mas is a normal map of the whole body of the car. That part of the fuel filler is engraved and that was causing the problem. Just paint it in plain color, insert the file in cat.mas and create it (using Gmotor util).

Another problem I found is with the cockpit cam. When I'm driving in Nords, the shaded effect of the windshield makes some shadows look very dark and the effect is really ugly. Is there a way to make the windshield totally transparent?

I have some problem with skinning in the Caterham mod. First, this must be a bug, because the filler cap looks wrong, no matter what you do, even if you don't paint anything or delete the alpha channel. Look at the surrounding area, it's like engraved. Apart from this, I'd like to know how can I paint the whole back of the headlights. In this picture you can see that there's a band that remains metallic, which is not the way the headlights look in the real Caterhams with the 'Black pack'. I'd also like to paint the windshield frame. It seems it's not in the car skin. Maybe it's inside the cat.mas file. I've been able to extract its contents, but I cannot find it. Thank.

How I Unlock the lockeds cars? like the F1 drivers skins

This is an all-time favorite and a very professional piece of work. Perfect FFB. A lesson in setting up your wheel & FFB. I'm definetly waiting for the v2 release, but take your time guys, thanks for all the effort!

There shouldn't be any problems with the sound, unless you are running the "lite" version of RF. Most Caterham steering is 1.93 turns lock to lock.
by Major_Parts on 04-Nov-09

Another question: what's the steer ratio of the Caterham?
by Angelus[ITA] on 28-Oct-09

It's a nice mod, very accurate! For the moment I've tried only the Classic 1.4K. It has just one issue, imho: the engine in idle is... silent! I can't hear it! For hear it, I have to pump up the volume. Not a good thing! I hope the other car are ok. P.S.= Are there some official setup for Real Feel FFB? The default one is horrible.

I just have to say that after downloading this mod I played it for five minutes and was almost done with it deeming this car uncontrollable. On reflection I realized I just suck at driving and that this car is a great tool to learn in. Have to say that if you wanted to teach somebody what under and over steer are this is the mod to sit them down on and make them play. so 5/5 from me love it
