latest version has a remodelled chicane section to closer resemble the look of the 1979 layout and some other little extras, replaced some textures.. this is a replacement track that supercedes any earlier versions in the gpc79 track series,
ignore the naming of the rar files,
For a anyone wishing to run it as a single track who dose not have the rest of the gp79 track series?. you will need to create a folder "GPC79tracks" inside your rfactorlocations and drop 09_Silverstone folder in that..

Distance in kilometers given in the .gdb = 4.719. Actual distance = 4.718 km. Close enough. Distance in miles given in the .gdb = 1.2 mi. Actual mileage = 2.932 mi. Math much?

dang..... woodcote chicane is perfect and amazing BUT i accidentally broke too late and was able to fly thru there, thru the "catch fences" with arrows pointing the way. with no penalty and over the line on a 1:15.9 LOL this is no good! so many will straight line this chicane and that's cheating just like ISI silverstone Oh no! these new updates otherwise are fantastic

Great Tracks great Mod. However,
Please STOP using rapid junk. It sucks. There are several places to store files that DO NOT require you to wait 87 minutes for your next download. Try A drive or 4shared, or media fire. Other than that great job on the whole project in general.

Motorfx, thanks for your update (it's extensible to the Osterreichring and Kyalami)!
I really like how the chicane is not implemented (bigger kerbs to avoid cut tracking it). However, is it possible to make the catch fencing on the chicane as a physical object, instead of being just as non-physical? That way league racing could be improved, as cut-tracking at Silverstone would be gone for ever.
Thanks

It is odd that this course does not have a readme file.
Anyway, I wouldn't assume so I would look in the SCN file for the course and see what the SearchPath says and compare it with the directory path in the archive that you downloaded.
The first entry says SearchPath=GPC79tracks and the second is SearchPath=GPC79tracks\09_Silverstone\
The directory path in the archive is 09_Silverstone so it goes in
rfactor\Gamedata\Locations\GPC79tracks
You can do this for any track you download (that does not have an installer) and determine where it goes. I have not installed this yet but that's where I am going to put it because that's where it appears to go. It is also where the previous versions are which you would see if download the track pack which is a worthwhile thing to do even if you don't get the cars.

OK vince where do i put the new releases .

for some reason the latest release of Silverstone and Kyalami are causing a .mas error. rF crashes straight to desktop with either track. Both archives downloaded from Rapidshare link given.
There's a also a bit of a discrepency with the version numbers, or that's what it looks like....... mousing over the link here at rfc seems to be pointing at version 2.03 or similar.
Is the file goosed or have I made a mistake ?
Anyone else see any problems ?
