Is counting cards illegal online? Can they find out?

So, here’s a question that’s been on my mind—is counting cards illegal online? And more importantly, can the casinos actually detect it?

I know in physical casinos, if you’re good enough to keep track of the deck, the pit bosses will start circling you like sharks, ready to show you the door. But online? That’s a different beast. With RNG-based blackjack, there’s no real deck penetration since the cards are shuffled after every hand. So, classic counting strategies don’t exactly work. But what about live dealer blackjack? That’s where things get interesting.

In theory, if the game uses a finite deck and doesn't reshuffle after every round, counting could be possible. But here’s my concern—do online casinos track betting patterns to catch card counters? I mean, if you suddenly start ramping up bets when the count is favorable, do they flag your account?

I know they can ban or limit advantage players, but I wonder how many people actually get caught this way. Has anyone tried it? Or do they just throttle your account when they suspect you’re playing too smart?

Would love to hear thoughts on this—especially if anyone’s had first-hand experience with it.
