I’ve been wondering: is DraftKings legal in Texas? I’ve got a trip planned there in the next four months, and I want to know what I’m getting into. I play on DraftKings pretty often when I’m home, and it’s a great platform for daily fantasy and sports betting, but I’ve heard mixed things about its legality in Texas.
From what I’ve gathered so far, daily fantasy sports on DraftKings are generally allowed in Texas, but sports betting isn’t, thanks to state laws. Kind of a bummer since I like to mix it up with both. If you're a DFS fan, though, you should be fine logging into DraftKings in Texas without any issues.
I’m just trying to make sure everything’s on the up-and-up before I try logging in when I’m over there. It’s a little frustrating that the rules change depending on where you’re standing, but hey, that’s the game we play. Anyone in Texas who can confirm what’s good with DraftKings? Would love to hear how people use it over there.
If all else fails, I might just stick to fantasy contests for now. Fingers crossed they start opening up the laws for sports betting soon—it’s long overdue.
