I’ve been using Proline Plus on and off since it launched in 2021, and I’ve got some thoughts. For those who don’t know, Proline Plus is Ontario’s government-run online sportsbook, fully legal and operated by the OLG. Unlike the old Proline that forced you into parlays, this one actually lets you place single bets, live wagers, and same-game parlays. It’s a big step up.
At first, I was all in—I liked that it was legit and backed by the province (meaning no issues with shady withdrawals). Plus, I figured it was cool that all proceeds go back into Ontario instead of lining offshore companies’ pockets. The site itself is smooth, works great on mobile, and covers all the big leagues like NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB.
But after a while, the cracks started to show. The odds on Proline Plus aren’t great—I compared NHL bets with Bet365 and FanDuel, and Proline Plus always paid out slightly less. And the no credit card deposits thing? Super annoying. You have to fund it through a bank account or Interac, which makes it less convenient than other books.
That said, I still use it casually—mainly for quick bets on the Habs when I want a simple, hassle-free experience. But when I’m actually hunting for value and better odds, I’ll go elsewhere.
Anyone else using Proline Plus regularly? Do you think it stacks up against private books, or is it just a backup option?
