The debate over Jon Jones’ next fight is heating up, and after the recent drama, I’m wondering if we’ll actually see him defend the title again. After UFC 309, it seemed like Jones was considering retirement, but Dana White is still pushing for a fight against Tom Aspinall to unify the heavyweight belts.
If it happens, how do you see it going? Jones’ fight IQ is unmatched, and his wrestling is still elite, but at 37, against a younger, aggressive Aspinall, things could get interesting. If Jones is focused, I think he takes it—but with everything going on, including that concerning Instagram Live, you have to wonder if his head is in the right place.
