Everybody here jokes around about losses and being degens and it’s fun but i havent seen anybody ever post something simple to help out people who might be struggling so here’s my list:
Hope this helps somebody save a bit of money! x
- Always gamble with money you can afford to lose – never use funds meant for essentials like rent or food, and avoid borrowing.
- Don’t think of gambling as a way to make money; it’s not a reliable method for covering expenses, paying off debt, or funding trips.
- Know the games before you play – understanding how they work helps you make informed decisions.
- Set both time and budget limits; many online and mobile platforms offer tools to track your play and spending. Leave your credit and debit cards at home to help stick to your budget.
- Take regular breaks while gambling – move around, get fresh air, or grab a coffee. Avoid chasing losses – don’t try to win back what you’ve lost, as this can lead to more losses.
- Balance gambling with other fun activities; it shouldn’t be your only source of entertainment. If it stops being enjoyable, take that as a sign to walk away.
- Limit alcohol and/or cannabis use while gambling to stay in control of your decisions.
- Don’t rely on “lucky” strategies – they won’t improve your chances of winning.
- Avoid gambling when you’re feeling stressed or upset – it’s important to stay in a positive mindset.
