I’ve been checking out the Philadelphia Phillies standings and wondering if anyone else is thinking about throwing some bets down on them making the playoffs this year. Sure, they're currently 2nd in the NL East with an 11-11 record, but the way they’ve been hitting is making me pretty optimistic.
Their offense is looking sharp, sitting at 5th place in MLB standings for batting average at .257 and also 5th in total runs with 784 R. Not bad at all, considering they’re up against teams like the Dodgers. Speaking of which, anyone else watching those Dodgers standings? Always feels like a battle between them and the Phillies when it comes to playoff spots.
Now, I know the pitching is still a bit hit-or-miss, with an ERA of 3.85 and a WHIP of 1.24, but it’s not the worst. And with their upcoming Phillies games, I’m banking on them racking up a few more wins to solidify their position in the Phillies standings wild card race.
