A few months ago, I signed up for a sportsbook in Canada that was offering a "risk-free" bet up to $500. Sounded great, right? I placed a $200 bet on an NHL game, thinking, worst case, I get my money back. But then I read the fine print…
Turns out "risk-free" doesn’t mean cash back—it means site credit. And of course, that site credit had:
3x wagering requirements (had to bet $600 to withdraw anything)
Limited betting options (couldn’t use it on parlays or live bets)
Short expiration window (had to use it in 7 days or lose it)
Basically, I didn’t get a "risk-free" bet—I got a complicated promo designed to keep me betting.
I’m done chasing fake risk-free offers. Now, I only bet at sportsbooks that give real cashback or bonuses with no stupid conditions.
Anyone else been burned by these “risk-free” bets? Or have you actually found a sportsbook that offers legit cashback?
